Welcome to Third Grade!

                                                                                      8/11/15
Dear Third Grade Friends,

I am so excited for you to begin your third grade year! I know we will have a fabulous time! I hope you had a terrific summer filled with memories to share.
This summer I enjoyed spending time with Mr. Simpson and our son, Braden (who is also starting third grade this year). We spent lots of time with our yellow Labrador (Cooper) and our black bear hamster named Peanut Butter. I spent a lot of time at the pool this summer. Braden joined the Rookie Swim Team, so he practiced his swimming strokes early each morning. Also, I learned how to fish this summer! I made lots of interesting mistakes as I learned how to cast my line. I hooked myself a few times as I practiced, and Mr. Simpson and Braden thought that was pretty funny! I can’t wait to tell you more about it, and to hear about the fun times you had during vacation.
I hope you stop by to see me during Open House hours between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM on Monday, August 24th. It will be a time for you to meet some of your classmates and check out our classroom.
Every day we will have snack time in the morning. Please be sure to bring a piece of fruit or another healthy, small snack to school each day.
Please remember to bring in the fun foam picture frame that you were given on Step-Up Day. Attach a summer photo or draw a picture to go in the frame that shows a memorable summer experience you had. If you’ve misplaced your frame, don’t worry. You can still bring in the drawing or photo. Thanks!
I am looking forward to a fabulous year together!
                                                                                     Sincerely,
                                                                                     Mrs. Simpson
